Our exclusive horn and wood inlay rings are crafted with great attention to detail from a solid piece of music instrument grade wood and a piece of crosscut horn. We use only ethically sourced horn and hard woods. Unlike other inlay rings, ours do not have any joins, making them incredibly durable and long-lasting. To safeguard against moisture, all our wood rings come with an epoxy coating.

The Greater Kudu

The grandeur of a mature bull kudu is best illustrated by its two-and-a-half impressive twists of horns. When straightened, these formidable horns can reach an average length of 120cm, but sometimes nature graces them with three full twists. The record-holder boasts an astonishing length of 187.64cm!

Kudus are renowned for their extraordinary senses, their unique escape style, marked by a rocking-horse running motion and a distinct hoarse alarm bark that echoes through the wilderness. The male kudu gracefully lays back its horns to navigate overhead obstacles, adding to its impressive escape tactics.

Camelthorn

Camelthorn wood, obtained from the Camelthorn shrub, is prized for its durability and resistance to rot and decay. Its light-brown to reddish-brown colour and uniform texture make it an attractive choice for woodworking projects. The wood is very strong and easy to turn. It is popular with knife makers in South Africa, and has been well accepted by international wood crafters for a range of wood turning applications.

Quality

Thanks to our innovative crafting technique, we have been able to create inlay rings with unmatched quality.

We start with a premium stainless steel core, and then utilize a solid piece of instrument-grade wood and a hand-picked crosscut piece of horn as the inlay material.

Our unique assembly technique involves using solid pieces of material without any joins to create the inlay, which is then surrounded by the ring core.

We take great care in ensuring that our wood and horn rings are protected from moisture damage. All of our products come with a high quality epoxy coating to guarantee lasting durability.

The result is a highly durable and long-lasting product that you can rely on.

Warranty

Our Stainless Steel Inlay Rings are naturally hard-wearing and made to be worn for years to come. We offer a one-year warranty on all our rings, so you can trust in the quality of our products.

Ring care

Here are some helpful tips to maintain your ring:

  • Although your ring is water-resistant, it's best to remove it during activities such as bathing or handling water and solvents.
  • Avoid exposing your ring to harsh chemicals, such as antibacterial wipes, cleaners, perfumes, and hair products, as these can discolour or warp the inlay.
  • Keep your ring out of direct sunlight for extended periods, as this can cause fading and cracking.
  • Before engaging in activities that involve heavy lifting or abrasives, remove your ring to prevent scratches or damage.
  • If your ring gets wet, dry it immediately with a soft cloth to prevent water damage.
  • If you find that your ring is too tight, don't force it off. Instead, run your hand under cold water and use soap or cooking oil to gently remove it.

Our inlay ring with a premium stainless steel core is a high quality product and with the
proper care, will last you a very long time.
