Our Exotic Material Inlay Rings are crafted from uniquely intriguing and exotic materials that we source from around the world. Each ring is a true masterpiece, meticulously crafted with great attention to detail. We emphasize that all materials are sourced ethically and naturally, obtained through a registered wildlife product trader. Unlike many other inlay rings available, our designs are seamless, enhancing their durability and longevity. Additionally, to safeguard the inlay from moisture, we apply an epoxy coating to each of our exotic inlay rings.
The Amazing Hippo
The largest canines found in a hippopotamus’ mouth are referred to as tusks. Interestingly, these tusks are made of the same material as an elephant’s tusk - ivory resting beneath layers of dentin and enamel. However, hippopotamus ivory is known to be denser and have a thicker layer of dentin and enamel, making it more challenging to work with than elephant ivory. Male hippos tend to have much larger tusks than females, with some reaching up to 50 cm in length.
While it is legal to trade hippo tusk products in South Africa, exporting these products is prohibited.
Blue Spalted Beech
Spalted beech is a natural type of wood that has been aged for several years. When the aging environment is ideal, the wood develops stunning patterns throughout. After being cut and dried, only the finest pieces are chosen for stabilization and in this case, a blue dye is added to enhance its beauty. We source our beech-wood from international locations where the wood is carefully forested, aged, and stabilized to ensure the best possible quality.

Ring care
Here are some helpful tips to maintain your ring:
- Although your ring is water-resistant, it's best to remove it during activities such as bathing or handling water and solvents.
- Avoid exposing your ring to harsh chemicals, such as antibacterial wipes, cleaners, perfumes, and hair products, as these can discolour or warp the inlay.
- Keep your ring out of direct sunlight for extended periods, as this can cause fading and cracking.
- Before engaging in activities that involve heavy lifting or abrasives, remove your ring to prevent scratches or damage.
- If your ring gets wet, dry it immediately with a soft cloth to prevent water damage.
- If you find that your ring is too tight, don't force it off. Instead, run your hand under cold water and use soap or cooking oil to gently remove it.
Our inlay is a high quality product and with the proper care, will last you a very long time.
